COLLAGEN THREAD CLINICAL STUDY SUMMARY

DS V-LINE

This study, conducted with the approval of the Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine Ethics Committee, aims to evaluate the effects of the collagen thread technique on skin structure using objective methods. The collagen thread technique is a non-invasive care method based on applying natural collagen fibers to the skin surface and allowing them to be absorbed by the skin. The effects of this method were analyzed using ultrasonography (US) and shear wave elastography (SWE).

1. Study Design

Collagen thread care was applied to 31 participants with fine wrinkle complaints in the facial area, once a week for 3 months. The effects were evaluated at the end of the application process and at the 6th month after the treatment was completed.

2. Findings Obtained

The following findings were obtained in the measurements and clinical evaluations:

  • A significant increase in thickness was observed in the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue at the end of 3 months.

  • A significant increase in skin elasticity was detected in the early period.

  • Although partial regression was observed in the epidermis and dermis at the 6th month, the values remained above the baseline level.

  • An increase in the subcutaneous tissue was observed to continue.

  • In clinical observations, skin tightening and a reduction in fine wrinkles were noted.

3. Conclusion

The collagen thread technique is an effective method that creates measurable structural changes in the skin layers without requiring invasive procedures.

The findings obtained show that the effect can continue not only superficially but also at deeper tissue levels.

The data obtained with ultrasonography and elastography reveal that the effect of collagen thread care can be evaluated objectively and reliably.
